Welcome!
Welcome to our project “Wisconsin Science Rocks!! From Crystals to the molecular world”. At our exhibition, we will show Midwest originated rocks, familiar minerals and crystals, and new materials made in UW-Madison labs for children to observe under the light microscope to open a gateway to the microscopic world. Then, we will also exhibit a paper model of single crystal x-ray diffractometer which is a powerful analytical tool for studying crystal structures at the molecular level for these kinds of specimens. Our idea for this exhibition is to attract a young audience with hands-on, interactive activities that introduce the connection to the elements and small molecular world!
As a bonus of visiting our exhibition, Crystal-themed coloring sheets will also be available for visitors to take home, or immediately color with crayons provided and post on a wall at the booth.
